Efficient –At low temperature, the small temperature differences between the refrigerant and the medium being cooled necessitates highly efficient heat exchange:

FAQ
Q: The model of Cryogenic Chiller?
A: Each Cryogenic Chiller is specially designed according to customers’ requirements (operation temperature & refrigeration load). The technician will confirm the design requirements, viz. evaporation temperature and refrigeration load together with customers during the beginning Technical communication. Only both the operation temperature and refrigeration load are certain, the model of cryogenic chiller can be confirmed. (Only temperature or refrigeration load cannot confirm the model of cryogenic chiller)
Q: How about the price and delivery time?
A: Since cryogenic chillers are customer-made, their prices will be different accordingly. For delivery time, as cryogenic chillers require high system liability, all the main parts are imported, that means, the purchasing time will be comparatively long. Usually the delivery time of cryogenic chillers will be 2~5 months. Air freight is available at customers’ request for decrease the purchasing time, however the extra fee should be needed.
Q: The cooling media circulating system?
A: Usually one cooling media circulating system is needed between Cryogenic Chiller and Customers’ working vessel. There are three main reasons. First, normally the distance between the customers’ working vessel and the refrigeration plant is a bit far. Working vessel is often in anti-explosion area, Cooling media circulating system can separate Cryogenic Chiller from the refrigeration plant, which make the whole system safe and reliable. Second, the cooling media cool down the solvent inside the customs’ working vessel via heat-exchange coil. Once there’s leak in heat-exchange coil, the solvent will be polluted. While the solvent used in cooling media system is same with the solvent, therefore, this situation will be avoided. Third, it simplifies the work of the operator of Working Vessel.
Q: The working range of Cryogenic Chiller?
A: Normally, the lowest evaporation temperature of Cascade Cryogenic Chiller is -95℃. Since the heat exchange with cooling media requires temperature difference of heat transfer, which used to be 5℃, therefore, the lowest temperature of cooling media is -90℃. Meanwhile, the temperature difference of heat exchange between Cooling Media and Solvent inside the customers’ working vessel is 5℃, thus theoretically all the operation temperature above -85℃ is available for Cryogenic Chiller. What’s more, comparing with Liquid Nitrogen, the boiling point of cooling media is much higher (usually above +40℃), so only if the temperature of Solvent is lower than the boiling point of cooling media, there will not be phase change during heat exchange and will keep high efficiency. Cooling media system can provide cooling source for Working Vessels with different operation temperature. Especially for those with higher reaction temperature, according to Q=K·A·Δt, when K (heat transfer parameter) and A (heat transfer area) are certain, Δt (temperature difference of heat transfer) is in direct proportion with Q (quantity of heat exchange), that is, realize big amount heat exchange within limit heat exchange area.
Q: If the refrigeration capacity of Cryogenic Chiller is more than the refrigeration capacity which is needed for cooling down the materials, is it satisfied and enough for usage?
A: Not always. Firstly, the entire system including cooling media circulating pump, storage Vessel, pipes and valves all belong to heat headstream. The system still exists heat-consuming even though with the heat insulation. We need to consider the above two parts based on the load of the Cryogenic Chiller. Otherwise, the refrigeration capacity which is finally passed to the materials cannot meet the requirements. Additionally, even though the refrigeration capacity that Cryogenic Chiller outputs meets the requirements, since the available heat exchange area is not enough inside the customer’s working vessel, still cannot reach the requirement of heat exchange so that finally it does not meet the customers’ request either.

Q: The temperature of Cryogenic Chiller is higher than Liquid Nitrogen, therefore, its effect is not as good as the latter?
A: Liquid Nitrogen absorb heat by using vaporization latent heat (Liquid Nitrogen changes into gaseous nitrogen after absorbing heat), therefore during the process of absorbing heat, there will be strong vaporization (especially at beginning of the cooling down process, when the difference in temperature is big). This phenomenon will make the liquid nitrogen inside coils change into both gas and liquid phase, thus the liquid nitrogen will not completely contact with heat-exchange coils and the efficiency of heat exchange is quite low. Cryogenic Chiller provides cooling source through Cooling Media system. During the refrigeration release, Cooling Media keeps to be liquid, which make best of heat exchange area of coils. Therefore, the efficiency is high and the process of refrigeration release is steady.
Q: What benefit can Cryogenic Chiller bring?
A: Comparing with the conventional Liquid Nitrogen temperature cooling down process, Cryogenic Chiller can lower the operation cost, improve the product quality and quantity. (The income of many customers can reach several ten thousands RMB per day). According to different cooling down process, character and output of products, the customer income varies. The technician can make economic analysis report based on customers’ real situation, so that the customer will have a more direct understanding of the advantages of Cryogenic Chiller.
